ERROR: 'Recon Failed Compliance'

You have submitted your EMP501 Annual/Interim Employer Reconciliation Submission on SARS e@syFile.

When you check the Status Dashboard on e@syFile, you find the following status:

Customers with this status error on SARS e@syFile must contact SARS for the details as to why the employer failed compliance.

It is possible that the issue is related to the Employment Tax Incentive (ETI) on the EMP501 reconciliation submitted to SARS (any carried forward value after the 6-month reconciliation period).

When there is ETI on the reconciliation, the compliance status is verified. If the employer is non-compliant, no ETI refunds (if applicable) will be paid out.

The employer has up to the end of the next 6-month period to become compliant. Failing which, the ETI refund will be forfeited.
